LOC Application

Step 1: Register for your applicant ID
(Due January 15) 

Starting December 1, complete the brief registration form to share your contact information and provide the contact information of the teacher who will complete your teacher recommendation. After registering, you will receive an email with your applicant ID number and the link to the application form, which opens on January 1. Additionally, the teacher you designated for your recommendation will receive an email inviting him/her to complete the recommendation form. Be sure to talk to your teacher before completing this step so your recommender knows to expect the email from LOC Scholars.

Step 2: Complete the application
(Due February 5)

Use the link below to access the application questions, including required documents and essay questions so you can begin to gather your documents and prepare your responses. Starting January 1, use your applicant ID number and the application link from your email to complete the application form. It can be saved in progress if necessary. Submit your application and confirm that your teacher has submitted their recommendation by February 5. Applicants will be notified by March 22 if they are selected to continue as a semi-finalist. 

Step 3, Semi-finalists: Upload a short video
(Due April 22)

As a semi-finalist, you will create a short (under 3 minutes) video to introduce yourself and answer a video prompt provided by email in March.

Step 4, Semi-finalists: Submit Spring grades
(Due June 30)

As a semi-finalist, you will provide information about your Spring term grades and standardized test scores through the Spring Academic Information form, which will be emailed in May.

Finalists and semi-finalists may be eligible for a prize in recognition of their past achievements.
